What is a diesel catalyst?
A diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) is employed to remove CO and hydrocarbons using the oxygen in the exhaust (5–15% of the gases). It also oxidizes NO to NO2, which, if left unchecked, results in elevated levels of NO2 at the exhaust pipe exit.
