Under the proper maintenance and routine care, Qingling Isuzu GIGA VC61 diesel engines are supposed to be durable and efficient on the road. However, after using it for quite a long time, it might slowly not be at its best state, which is probably lacking power, even though the Diagnostic Trouble Code shows 0. Therefore, we have listed a few solutions for you to check and repair regarding this situation.
1. Certain parts should be replaced regularly during maintenance, such as oil filter, oil water separator, engine oil, and engine oil filter. If you failed to do so, replace them immediately.
2. Check the status of the fuel tank vent valve. If there is any blockage or impurities in the valve or the hose, clear them out.
3. See the oil hose for any blockage, bends, or leaks.
The original fuel filter element should be replaced in time. Otherwise, the following problems may occur:
1. Too insufficient fuel supply to start the vehicle;
2. Damaged fuel system parts (fuel injection pump/injector, common rail)
Also, check the oil inlet filter for the engine oil pump and clean it if necessary.
1. See if the oil rail pressure data on the diagnostic equipment is unusual.
2. After starting the vehicle, immediately and carefully touch the oil return hose with your fingernail. If it feels hot, the common rail pressure relief valve might be damaged, which leads to unbalanced pressure and low diesel engine power.
Note: Do not touch the oil return hose with your skin directly to prevent burns.
